  • From 14 to 21 July: Vessela Dyakova accompanies pilgrims from the Diocese of Ghent to Lourdes (France).
     

  • July 22 at 3 p.m she accompanies the trumpeter Georgi Grozev on the organ of St. Michael's Church in Ghent as part of the Gentse Feesten.
     

  • Vessela Dyakova gives together with Dr. Krastin Nastev a masterclass for choral conductors from Bulgaria in Plovdiv. She focuses on European masters who wrote choral works with organ accompaniment, including works by C. Franck and Felix Mendelssohn... As already mentioned, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church has no organs. During the master class with the participation of many Bulgarian choral conductors, European music is studied with piano and organ accompaniment.

Biography

Vessela Dyakova

Vessela Dyakova was born in Bulgaria and she studied at the Pancho Vladiguerov National Academy in Sofia. She studied piano with professor Nikolai Evrov, who himself was a student of professor L. Encheva and professor H. Neughaus. She received a master’s degree of music for piano, theory and pedagogy.

Later she attended master classes at the conservatories of Saint Petersburg, Prague and Weimar with professor G. Halfin, professor Ivan Moravec and professor J. Halmush.

Vessela Dyakova is best known as a pianist. She gave recitals and concerts in almost all European countries and also in Belgium she gave recitals in Flemish and Walloon cities.

As a pianist she demonstrates great talent in her recitals with works of Russian literature, especially Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky. Also Flemish composers adorn her repertory.

In later life she studied organ at the Royal Music Conservatory of Ghent and at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven.

As an organist she immerses herself in the romantic literature where Felix Mendelssohn, César Franck and Flor Peeters carry her preference.

Typical of her full career are her multifarious activities as a concert pianist, organist, pedagogue and conductor.

She taught at the High School of Ghent, campus teachers education.

 

She teached at the Urban Academy for Music, Word and Dance in Dendermonde.

​

For the moment she is organist at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Oostakker/Lourdes, near Ghent.
